The Latin American Sports Economics Conference (LASEC) is an international academic event dedicated to advancing research and discussion on the economics of sports in Latin America. It provides a platform for scholars, professionals, and students to exchange ideas, present studies, and analyze the economic impact of sports on various industries, including media, infrastructure, and labor markets. Given the rapid growth of the sports industry in the region, LASEC plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration between researchers and policymakers, contributing to the development of evidence-based strategies to enhance the economic and social benefits of sports.
The First Latin American Sports Economics Conference (LASEC-1) took place at Universidad de Los Andes, Bogotá, on October 19–20, 2023. Check the LASEC-1.
This year, The Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) is proud to invite you to be part of the Second Latin American Sports Economics Conference to be held in Lima, Perú on July 17 and 18, 2025. Our keynote speakers are James Reade (University of Reading) and Brad Humphreys (West Virginia University).
